What Remodel Items will Improve my Home Value?

What Remodel items will Improve my Home Value? As we enter into the busiest home buying season, Denver sellers hoping to sell their homes, and get top dollar. Some common questions I get are -- what items should I remodel or update to get top dollar? How much can I do without over improving my home for the neighborhood? Kitchen Remodels Kitchen Remodels Denver real estate is on fire, and enjoying a serious Seller's Market and homes are reaping top dollar with updated kitchens with newer cabinets, solid surface counter tops and new appliances (stainless steel is popular). Bathrooms are the other area that are important to be updated. Kitchen & bath remodels/updates will usually realize approximately 60-70% of the dollars invested, as long as you don't go totally extravagant. Bathroom Remodels Bathroom Remodels Finished basements are desired, but do not get the same value as the above ground square footage, so be careful how much you spend. Many homeowners think improving their yards will reap big dollars, but only patio/decks (views too) and outdoor kitchens will give value. Buyers will appreciate any outdoor work, and will sell quicker. Outdoor Kitchens As a Denver Realtor, I remind Sellers to remember while upgrading, not EVERY penny goes into the sales price. Some of these upgrades need to be done for your enjoyment! Denver home buyers are looking for efficient furnaces and water heaters and new windows are good investments when thinking of selling. If a homeowner is thinking about doing some updating/remodeling, and you have ANY questions, call your Denver REALTOR to get advice, or you may not get the news you were hoping to hear when you get ready to sell!
